1. Who we are

The Secret Pearl ("we", "us", "our") operates a jungle club and hostel in Weligama, Sri Lanka, and the website at thesecretpearl.lk (the "Site"). This page explains how we handle information when you visit the Site or get in touch with us, and the terms that apply to using it.

2. Information we collect

We collect very little personal information directly. It's mainly limited to what you choose to share with us:

• Your name, email, or phone number if you contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp, or Instagram.
• Basic technical data collected automatically by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and performance purposes.

We do not run our own account system, and we do not process payments directly on this Site.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you send us to respond to enquiries, manage bookings and reservations, and communicate with you about events, hostel stays, or your request. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Third-party services

Some parts of the Site link to or embed services operated by other companies, each with their own privacy policies:

• MyTable.lk and Resident Advisor — used for event ticket sales. Ticket purchases are processed entirely on their platforms.
• Hostelworld — used for hostel bookings.
• Google Maps — used to display our location.
• Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, and SoundCloud — linked social media profiles.
• Cloudflare — our hosting and content delivery provider.

We recommend reviewing each provider's own privacy policy before using their service.

5. Cookies

The Site itself does not use its own tracking or advertising cookies. Some embedded third-party content (such as maps) may set cookies or use similar technologies according to their own policies, which are outside of our control.

6. Data retention & security

We keep enquiry and booking-related messages only as long as needed to respond to you or fulfil a booking, and we take reasonable steps to protect information sent to us. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

7. Your rights

You can ask us at any time what information we hold about you, request that it be corrected, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us at info@thesecretpearl.lk.

8. Terms of use

By using this Site, you agree to the following:

• Event and flyer information is provided for general guidance and may change without notice; always confirm details before travelling.
• Tickets are sold by third-party platforms (MyTable.lk, Resident Advisor) under their own terms and refund policies — we are not responsible for their processing of payments or personal data.
• Some events may have age restrictions or entry conditions; please check individual event details or contact us directly.
• All site content, branding, and imagery belong to The Secret Pearl unless otherwise credited, and may not be reused without permission.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this page from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for legal reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
